👋 Hi, my name is Ken and I am a highly motivated engineer with a passion for technology and an ambitious goal to help improve the world. Currently, I am exploring how the recent advancements in artificial intelligence can be utilized to improve our healthcare and education systems.
I am completing a Master's degree in Computer Science at Virginia Tech while I work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Virginia Tech and a Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Military Institute. Studying under Dr. Denis Gračanin and Dr. Mohamed Azab, my research is focused around artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and extended reality. This past summer, I was fortunate to intern at Amazon AWS AI where I got to learn from some of the brightest minds in the industry and work on two cutting-edge machine learning applications. I am looking forward to rejoining my team again this summer to continue my work and learn more.
Before enrolling in graduate school I completed my undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech's College of Engineering with a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Computer Science. I finished my degree a year early with magna cum laude honors. During this time, I play Division I Football at Virginia Tech my freshman year, work as an undergraduate research assistant my freshman and sophomore years, and serve as a core member of a rideshare startup my sophomore and junior years.
In-between undergrad and graduate school, I had the opportunity to travel to Colombia for two months. During this time I lived in the Andes Mountains while I worked remotely, practiced my Spanish, ate lots of amazing food, and embraced the beautiful culture. This was a fantastic experience that has helped shape what I want out of my life and career.
